Advisory Manager - Managed Client Services - Glasgow

French Duncan have an exciting opportunity for an established advisory professional to join our expanding managed client services division. This role would suit an aspiring manager looking to advance their career in a non-compliance function.

Role Objective:

Clients who are assisted by Managed Client Services are generally those who require a high level of professional input. Those clients may, through circumstances, have a need to address a number of high level or strategic issues in the business. As a result of these issue they will require a substantial input from a range of French Duncan staff as well as Managed Client Services. MCS are tasked with managing these relationships and ensuring that the appropriate staff engage with the client as required

Role Description :

The core role of an Assistant Manager within the Managed Client Services function is to deliver service to the clients being assisted by the MCS division.

This role includes the following key responsibilities:

  • Utilising the specialist knowledge of the various departments across the firm
  • Working closely with audit / Tax and ESD to ensure smooth delivery
  • Clear communication with FD colleagues on requirements, deadlines
  • Maintenance of relationship on a commercial level rather than wholly professional service level
  • Delivering on a project work within allocated deadlines
  • Being aware of the current position of the client and future plans
  • Ensuring a responsive service provided
  • Working closely with senior staff and partners
  • Manage future project work /follow up prospect work

The Managed client services function is driven by the demands of our clients, and the above list is indicative of the types of activities you will be involved in, but is not exhaustive.   

Person Specification:

  • Experience working in a practice accountancy environment
  • Experience in industry is desirable but not essential
  • Proven experience in either Audit, Accounts or Corporate Advisory is essential
  • Qualified Chartered Accountant
  • Relevant Honours level degree with a minimum 2:1 classification
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including proficient report writing skills 
  • High level of IT literacy, in particular strong Excel skills and exposure to other Microsoft packages including PowerPoint and Word
  • Excellent numerical skills to enable a high level of financial analysis
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Good organisational skills with an ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Ability to problem solve
  • A quick learner with an inquisitive mind
  • Hard working individual with a flexibility in working hours
